Sweden Yachts 50 sailing yacht designed by Peter Norlin and Jens stmann and built by Sweden Yachts AB, Stenungsund, Sweden.

Sweden Yachts have an excellent reputation based on their build quality, sea worthiness and good sailing ability. This yacht has been well maintained and constantly updated durinng her current ownership.


The powerful Sloop/ Cutter Selden rig works well with her new sails (4 with 2 spare older North sails), an Bamar electric furler on the headstay makes light work of foresail handling.


Auxilary power is provided by a Volvo Penta TMD31 94Hp inboard diesell (with constant velocity joint), fitting with a Gori 3 bladed propeller. The engine benfited from a new turbo in 2017.


Other featues onboard this Sweden Yachts 50 include, 2010 bowthuster, hot/cold aircon, dual heating system, 2017 overhaul electric 5 kw generator, full electronic navigation instruments including radar, Raymarine chart-plotters and B&G autopilot, Navtec hydraulic pumps for backstay and boomvang.


Interior layout includes saloon with dining table for 8 persons, long sofa on SB side, complete galley with new 2016 4 burners stove and oven plus new refrigerator, 3 double berthed cabins with 2 complete heads. Great volumes in fore and aft lockers.

Construction

Hull
End grain balsa core sandwich using fiberglass mat and rowing on both sides gives a
light, rigid and well isulated hull. Balsa core is used from toe rail to below water line.

Solid laminate is used in hight stress areas around keel, mast foot and in the joint
between the hull halves. Bottom reinforcements are longitudinal and transversal solid
laminate design.

Deck
End grain balsa core sandwich with moudled fiberglass on both sides. Stress areas
where winches, sheet tracks etc. are fixed are renforced by replacing the balsa core
with marine plywood or by using s.s. backing plates and/or mixi washers.

Aft terrace

Aft terrace in teak with fix stepladder.

Hull/Deck joining The hull is limited to the deck using glass and polyester. The toe rail is then bolted
through deck and hull flange using a special sealing material.

Ballast
Ballast keel is lead casting with antimony. Cati-in keel bolts are of stainless steel. lifting
lug is fastened to the keel bolts.

Rudder
The balance spade rudder is molded in fiberglass using rowing and mat for maximum
strength. The rudder stock is of stainless steel with three bearings, two ball bearings
and one bronze bearing at the skeg.


Motor bed
Integrated part of bottom reinforcement system ad filled with heavy ballast for maximum
stability.

Chain plates
Sweden Yachts designed and specially developed steel beam system, allowing heavy loads
to be taken by bulkheads without the need for additional internal reinforcements.

Mast step
Galvanized mast step bolted to bottom reinforcemet.

Teak deck
Teak deck is laid form 12 mm first class teak ribs bonded to the deck with polyurethane
and secured by stainless steel scrwes. Expansion joints sealed by special silicone. Teak in
cockpit and on bridge deck.


Interior
Marine grade water proof polywood with pine and brich core faced with selected mahogany in frames and doors. Marine grade lauvan in bottoms, shelves etc. where not visible. All main bulkheads bonded to hull and deck using glass mat and polyester. All main visible hull sides covered by mahogany planking ribs. Ceiling, top-sides and minor visible hull sides padded with foam backed vinyl. Hillsides, bottom, bilge, etc. topcoated throughout the interior. Cabin sole is teak and holly. All mahogany as well as cabin sole is varnished in satin finish.

Equipment

Windows
6 fixed aluminum framed windows and 2 openable and 2 openable windows in cabin trunk, 3
openable aliminum framed windows in cockpit.

Hatches
2 large hatches to forward shower and salon, 2 medium size hetches to owner s cabin and 2 small
hatches to aft cabins. Plexiglass companion-way sliding hatch.

Ventilation
4 Dorade ventilators, 3 electrolux ventilators. Engine air intel from mast. Engine battery compartment ventilated.

Winches
2 Lewmar no.66 S/T 2-speed genoa sheet winches. 1 Lewmar no.43 S/T 2-speed main sheet winches. 2 Lewmar no.46 S/T 2-speed halyard winches. 1 Lewmar no.40 S/T 2-speed reefing winches. 2 Lewmar no.16 S/T 2-speed main sheet car control. Lead blocks, cleats, jammers etc. 2 10 handles with lock. 2 10 2-grip handles with lock.

General hardware
Aluminum toe rail bolted to deck-hull. 6 mooring bollards, 12 stanchion bases and tapered SS stanchions, pulpit, pushpit and ladder in SS, double lifelines, navigation lights, aluminum genoa tracks with 4 roller fairleads. 2 Bilge pumps. Double anchor roller. Main sheet track with slider and tag lines.

Steering
Custom made pedestal steering with 12 radial wheel, brake and stainless chain and wires. 48 stainless steel wheel.

General
Bolts, nuts, washers and screws used for fastening deck equipment are stainless steel. Sealing used between deck and equipement are polyurethane, silicone or specially developed material.

Stern lockers
2 stern lockers (one SB and one port side)
