Meandrine is a Semi-Trad style 59’ 6” narrowboat built and fitted out in 1997 by the reputable Stowe Hill boat builders. The boat has been meticulously cared for and maintained from new by the owners and it shows. The tiller bar also features an authentic RAF Harrier control handle with firing buttons to clear the canal ahead!
From the distinctive front end, you enter the cratch covered well deck (x2 covers, winter & summer!) which has a bench seat and two foot lockers which double as steps, with a folding table from the front board. The bow thruster sits under.
Down into the large 13’ saloon which houses two leather captains chairs with footstools and a drop down extendable table which is 63” long (will seat six) for dining. Immediately obvious is the clever use of space for maximum storage on this boat, the under gunwale port side features shelves and cupboards the whole length of the boat - a space usually wasted. The opposite wall has more shelves and a music system fitted, with the TV hiding away in a cupboard. A side hatch and bullseye in here also provide additional light and ventilation. The Squirrel stove was new in 2011.
Into the galley which has a 4 gas burner, and hidden microwave oven & grill combi. It boasts good cupboard space under and above the work tops and a 24v fridge with ice box. There is a side hatch in the galley as well.
The bathroom follows with a radiator, a stylish corner basin, a pumpout macerator loo and a really spacious shower over bath arrangment.
Down the corridor, passing a large cupboard, into the bedroom. This has a cross bed 5’10”x 5’ king width bed, small personal cupboards and 2 decent sized half wardrobes.
The stern cabin, which gives easy access to the stern deck, houses the 5.5kw Genset and electrical systems. There is a sliding cupboard which hides the washing machine and tumble dryer.
The semi trad area has a tonneau cover, two perch seats for a comfortable cruising position and more storage lockers.
Central heating on board is through the diesel fired Eberspacher to fin rads. Hot water is supplied by either the Eberspacher, engine or immersion.
Meandrine has been looked after incredibly well and is a fitting tribute to her owners and Stowe Hill Marine. She is in excellent condition, and is suitable for long distance cruising on rivers as well as canals and will make a comfortable and cosy home or holiday boat.
